Services set for Mich. Marine
Marine Lance Cpl. Justin Ellsworth will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing following a funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Hope Church, 202 S. Creyts Road in Lansing.
Cpl. Ellsworth, 20, was among four soldiers killed Nov. 13 by a roadside bomb in Fallujah, Iraq. He was a member of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force's Combat Service Support Battalion, based in Camp Pendleton, Calif., and was a trained demolition expert. But shortly before his death, he was chosen for a secret mission to evacuate civilians in advance of the U.S. assault on Fallujah.
Cpl. Ellsworth was born in Lansing. His father, John Ellsworth, is a sergeant with the Wolverine Lake Police Department. His mother, Tracy Ross, lives in Colorado.
He was a 2003 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Senior High School.
Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today at the Estes-Leadley Funeral Home, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing.
